“This course will be excellent, offering a variety of clinical and scientific subjects, delivered by experts. It should be an inspiring start to summer 2021!”
Dr Michael Williams, UG and FY Lead, Royal College of Ophthalmologists
Belfast Eye Conference aims, for one weekend this summer, to bring together those who are fascinated by clinical ophthalmology and vision related research around the world.
The conference will provide the stage for a set of speakers who will give broad and varied perspectives on eye related disease. You will hear clinically informative talks from Consultant Ophthalmologists who will discuss topics relating to their sub-specialty, and hear from other members of the multi-disciplinary team. And on Sunday, we are excited to showcase cutting edge vision related research.
Have a look at our 2022 programme to view the weekends schedule of events and why not follow us on Twitter: @BelfastEyeCon?

“Really enjoyed the talks, there are not many ophthalmology based conferences suitable for undergraduate level students, so thank you very much!”
“Great opportunity for undergraduates to get experience with conferences/presenting posters.”
“Hearing about current research from the leading professors was fantastic. The conference was not only extremely educational but has motivated me to seek more research opportunities locally.”
“Absolutely the best conference that I have ever participated in! The structure of day 1 being more "teaching based" and day 2 being more "research based" worked extremely well. All of the speakers were hugely engaging. The three organisers (Philip, Dr Williams and Dr. Khan) were very professional and helped the speakers keep to timing. Their prompts in the chat box also encouraged me to participate in the discussions a bit more. Really inspiring conference, would highly recommend to anyone who's thinking about going into ophthalmology, and even to those who are not!”
“Very well organised, insightful conference! I'll definitely recommend it to everyone with an interest in ophthalmology and vision science.”
